Stradey Castle
Stradey Castle is the home of the Mansel Lewis family. The Stradey estate has been in the family for some 200 years. The present house was built around 1850 and was extended in the 1870's. Although little known outside the local community, this exclusive property is being renovated and in due course will be made available to those who wish to create memorable events – from exclusive wedding receptions to fine dining celebrations and small conferences. In addition to a number of fine formal rooms, the estate includes a terrace garden adjacent to the house and a woodland garden, containing a large collection of trees and shrubs. While the house is not yet ready for wedding receptions and conferences, Heritage Tours of the house and grounds started in spring 2012. The house is already available for hire for wedding photographs and as a photographic and film location. It is proposed to site a marquee in the grounds enabling us to accommodate around one hundred and fifty wedding guests. Although Stradey Castle does not offer overnight accommodation we can recommend a number of local hotels and guest houses. Ample free parking will be available.
